Tax stress is a
veteran issue.

Financial stress including tax confusion and backlogged filings is a major contributor to veteran mental health challenges. Many overseas veterans delay filing for years due to fear or conflicting advice — not because they're non-compliant, but because nobody explained it clearly.

Monte starts with a calm, no-pressure conversation.

Walk in or message. Monte will review your situation, explain what actually applies to you — not a generic answer — and lay out your options clearly so you make an informed decision. There's no obligation to proceed. The conversation itself is free.

If you also need veteran-specific VA claims help (especially in Southeast Asia or expat communities), Monte's primary service is C-File analysis and VA claims strategy through VCAnalytics.ai — the same office, the same analyst. Learn about the C-File service →

Frequently asked questions.

Do I have to file US taxes if I live in the Philippines?
US citizens and green card holders must file regardless of where they live if income exceeds the filing threshold. Many expats qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE) which can eliminate or significantly reduce US tax owed — but you still have to file to claim it. FBAR reporting is separate and required if your foreign accounts exceeded $10,000 at any point during the year, regardless of tax liability.
What if I haven't filed for several years?
This is very common and very fixable. The Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures allow most non-filers to catch up with reduced or no penalties if the non-compliance was non-willful. Monte screens your situation first before any filing is done to confirm the right path. Don't let fear of past non-filing stop you from sorting it out — the Streamlined process exists exactly for this situation.
Who actually prepares and signs my tax return?
Monte's US CPA partner firm prepares, reviews, and electronically signs your return and FBAR. Monte handles intake, document collection, and screening in the Philippines only. He does not prepare, sign, or file tax returns — his CPA license is retired and inactive. All regulated tax work is performed by the licensed US CPA partner.
What does it cost?
Flat fee — no percentages of your refund, no upsells, no hidden charges. Pricing depends on your return complexity (number of foreign accounts, forms required, catch-up filing vs current year). Message Monte for a specific quote based on your situation.
Can I just skip the Philippines intake and file directly with the US CPA?
Yes — the in-person Philippines intake step is optional. If you prefer to work directly with the US CPA partner remotely, Monte can facilitate that introduction without the in-person intake step. The intake process exists for people who prefer face-to-face help, need document organization support, or aren't comfortable with fully remote filing.
Is this reputable and trustworthy?
